You want peace of mind. Well, we’ve got great news: you can add full-value cover to your InPost Send parcel – up to a whopping £500! Just make sure your parcel is packaged properly & check that your item isn’t on the prohibited & non-compensatory items list. 

The lowdown on cover 

With our Send service, we offer free cover up to £50 on parcels that you purchase through our app. But if your item is worth more than that and you want extra peace of mind, you can now purchase additional cover up to £500 when you send your parcel with us. 

This means if your parcel is lost or damaged and it’s definitely our fault, we’ll reimburse you for it (based on the info you gave us).  

So go ahead, get cover confidence. We’ve got your back. 🙌 

But wait – packaging matters! 

Even with cover, how you package your parcel makes all the difference. Here's how to prep it like a pro: 

🧱 1. Use a sturdy box or padded envelope 

Make sure it’s strong enough to survive the journey. Reusing old packaging? Great! Just make sure it’s in decent shape (no tears, crushed corners, or leftover labels). 

📦 2. Fill in the gaps 

Got space inside your parcel? Fill it! Use bubble wrap, packing peanuts, scrunched-up paper – whatever you’ve got. The goal: stop your item from rattling around like a pair of maracas. 

🧻 3. Wrap items individually 

If you’re sending multiple items, wrap each one separately. You wouldn’t throw all your mugs into one suitcase with no padding, would you? (If you would, we need to talk.) 

🔒 4. Seal it like you mean it  

Tape all edges securely and don’t be shy with it. Use proper parcel tape – not that sad, thin stuff that barely sticks. A secure seal = a safer journey. 

 

How to send with InPost 

First time using InPost Send? Welcome! Here's how it works: 

  1. Create your label  Head to our app and click the "Send” tab. Enter the delivery details, pick your parcel size, and let us know what’s in the parcel (this is where you can upgrade your cover). 

  2. Drop it off  Find your nearest InPost Locker or Shop – there are thousands across the UK, open early ‘til late (and many 24/7). No queues, no hassle. We recommend checking for space in the app first as some of our lockers get super busy. 

  3. Scan, pop, and lock  Scan the QR code from your phone at the locker, pop your parcel inside, shut the door and press “Finish” on the screen. Job done! We’ll take care of the rest. 

  4. Track it all the way  Keep an eye on your parcel’s journey via our app or tracking page. Stress-free sending at its finest.
