How we're print-free

We’re all about making parcel sending as easy and hassle-free as possible. 

Dropping off a parcel without a label might be a new concept for some of our senders, but don’t worry – we'll talk you through the process! Here’s a quick guide on how it works and why you can skip the printing (because we’ll handle it for you). 

Your QR code 

When you drop off a parcel at an InPost Locker, your individual QR code is all you need. Think of it as your parcel’s passport – it tells the locker system who you are ,what you’re sending and where it’s going. Scan it, and the locker will assign you a compartment. No printing, no fuss, just a simple scan, drop, and go! 

But wait… what about labels? 

You might be wondering: if we’re print-free, why do you sometimes see labels on your parcel? Great question! Here’s how it works: when our couriers collect your parcel from the locker, they attach a small temporary label. This is a barcode with an MTL number (below is an example of what this looks like), which helps us track your parcel’s journey.  

Once your parcel arrives at one of our depots, your barcode (the temporary label) is scanned and swapped out for the final label with the destination details. This means we handle all the printing on our end, so you don’t have to! 

What about InPost Shops 

Our InPost Shops are just as simple. Hand over your parcel and show the shopkeeper your QR code. They’ll scan it and print a small temporary label with a barcode and MTL number (see above for a picture), then scan your parcel into the shop’s system. That’s it – no need to worry about printing! 

When our courier arrives, they’ll scan the temporary label, collect all the parcels, and transport them to our depots. Once back at the depot, we’ll attach a label with the parcel’s final destination on.

Going print-free is all about convenience for you. Sending parcels should be stress-free, and we’re on a mission to shake things up and make this happen.
